I don't even know where to start with the greatness of service I experienced. Erik is amazing. He was so patient and worked with me for several weeks in solving my problem. I was having an issue where my brake light was coming on after 5 minutes every time I started my car. I went to 3 mechanics including the dealership.
The 2 mechanics couldn't figure it out and said to go to the dealer to see if they can figure it out. The dealership did say what the problem was but wasn't too certain as he said the light may still come on after spending $1400.00 for the replacement. I was not too comfortable with that answer. Did not trust him.
So after recommendations from area residents, I went to Stellars where I met Erik. After they inspected the car they admitted they were stumped too just as the other 2 mechanics were, but the difference here is that Erik did not just tell me to go to the dealer. He actually spent time with me in figuring the problem out for several weeks. We went back and forth often in trying to find a solution.
He was checking electrical diagrams thinking maybe it was electrical, searching online to see if others were having the same issue, he then checked with someone from the dealership to see if this was happening with other Tucson's where they told him what part was causing the problem. He then checked the service bulletin which also described the exact problem I was having.
So Erik called the dealer to see if they would sell him just a particular part, the end cap, but they told him they can't sell him it because its under a recall but not for my year car. Which is ridiculous since its still the same part in the other models. So dumb. He told Erik that he can sell the entire part for $650.00 where this particular part would of been only $8.00
Erik then looked online to see if I can get the part cheaper than what the dealer wanted for it. He found it online for $270.00. I could not find just the end cap online so I just bought the whole part at this point I just wanted to end this saga. Got the part, which was OEM and he replaced it. He saved me $900.00 from the dealership, hence why I only use the dealer for recalls. Everything else they overcharge to make up the loss from car sales.
I will now use Stellars for all my car issues moving forward.
